Alcor Solar has closed. Your solar pool heater still needs care.

Alcor Solar closed indefinitely as of October 1, 2026. Corda Solar is a licensed East Bay solar contractor, and we service the solar pool heating systems Alcor installed, from winterization and spring start-up to repairs and panel replacement.

Fall shut-down season runs mid-October through November

Winterizing before the first cold nights protects your collectors and plumbing from freeze damage.

What Alcor’s closure means for your system

Most solar pool heating systems run for decades. The company that installed yours closing doesn’t change that, but a few things do need a new home.

Your system keeps working

The collectors, valves, sensor and controller don’t depend on Alcor. They just need the same seasonal care and occasional repairs.

Seasonal service needs a new provider

If Alcor handled your fall winterization and spring start-up, those visits won’t happen this year unless you schedule them with someone else.

Panel warranties may still apply

Collector warranties usually come from the manufacturer. Alcor is no longer available to provide service. Bring us your paperwork and we’ll help you sort out what’s still covered.

Older panels are reaching end of life

Alcor installed systems across the East Bay since 1981. If yours has leaks, cracked headers or brittle panels, we’ll quote a replacement.

Solar pool heating service for former Alcor customers

We work on Aquatherm, Sealed Air and other common solar pool collectors, on tile, composition and flat roofs.

Fall shut-down and winterization

Drain the collectors, set the valves, secure the system and inspect for problems before winter.

Spring start-up

Refill, check for leaks, test the sensor and controller, and get your pool warming for the season.

Solar pool heater repair

Leaks, sensors, valve actuators, vacuum relief valves, controllers and diverter valves.

Collector replacement

Replace aging or damaged solar pool panels, including systems 15 to 40 years old.

Remove and reinstall for re-roofing

We take the panels down before your roofer starts and put them back when the roof is done.

Solar for your home

Corda Solar also designs and installs rooftop solar and batteries, which can offset the power your pool pump uses.

Questions from Alcor customers

Is Alcor Solar still in business?

Alcor Solar announced it would close indefinitely beginning October 1, 2026. Corda Solar is a separate company that services solar pool heating systems Alcor installed.

Who can service my Alcor solar pool heater?

Corda Solar is a licensed C-46 solar contractor serving Contra Costa and Alameda counties. We handle winterization, spring start-up, repairs and panel replacement on Alcor-installed systems.

Do I need to winterize my solar pool heater?

Yes. Draining and closing the system for winter protects the collectors and plumbing from freeze damage and keeps it ready for spring. Most shut-downs happen from mid-October through November.

Is my panel warranty still valid now that Alcor closed?

Panel warranties generally come from the manufacturer, not the installer, so yours may still apply. Alcor is no longer available to provide service. Send us your paperwork and we’ll help you contact the manufacturer.

Do you work on Aquatherm and Sealed Air collectors?

Yes. We service and replace collectors from Aquatherm, Sealed Air and other common solar pool heating brands.

My roof is being replaced. Can you remove and reinstall my pool solar panels?

Yes. We remove the collectors before your roofer starts and reinstall them afterward. If the panels are near end of life, we can replace them at the same time.
